They are the greatest reference and emblem of the salt culture in the Canary Islands. They are the largest salt flats and have the greatest landscape value on the islands, being considered one of the most important salt mills in the world. The production and subsequent marketing of salt has always been carried out with artisanal methods, not admitting, unlike other industries, mechanization.
